General Description:

The office of State Representative Donna Lasinski is currently looking to fill an internship position. An intern would be expected to aid the Representative and members of her staff ranging in the areas of legislation, communications, constituent affairs, general office management and miscellaneous tasks. Some responsibilities will include monitoring legislation, research and written correspondence to groups and individuals within House District 52. Hours are negotiable. Students from all disciplines are encouraged to apply.

Because internships will be entirely through remote work while the COVID-19 emergency continues, access to a computer with reliable internet access is necessary. Schedules will be individually arranged but must fall within office hours of 9:00am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday. Candidates who wish to work in the Lansing office in person when that becomes possible should indicate that in their cover letter.

Pay Range:
This is an unpaid position, but college credit is available. (See your school’s Internship Coordinator for more information on how to obtain college credit)

Minimum Qualifications:
Strong verbal and written communication skills. Previous office experience and knowledge of the Legislature and legislative process is a plus but not required. Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is required.
